IGNATIUS SANCHO (1732-1780) is a remarkable discovery for all of us. Born an enslaved person on a ship, he became a composer, a writer and, with his wife, ran a grocery store in London. He was the first Black British man to vote in parliamentary elections and, after his death, his Letters were used as testaments to support the abolitionist movements.
